1951 Packard Patrician

The 1951 Packard Patrician 400 was Packard's highest trim level. Available only as a high line four door sedan with an upgraded and beautifully appointed interior, the Patrician for 1951 set it sights on the big three. Three distinctive chrome ports on the rear quarter panels quickly told you it was a Patrician model and that that consumer had deeper pockets. Powered by Packard's tried and true in-line eight cylinder, this engine squeezed out 150 HP. Just over 9,000 Patricians were built for 1951. 1952 would go virtually unchanged as soon after, rumors would swirl regarding a Packard-Studebaker merger.
